What is Surge Pricing?

Surge Pricing can be incurred when the demand for rides is high, and the supply of drivers is low. In other words, Uber prices can increase when it is a busy time due to bad weather or a popular event.

Surge Pricing is calculated at the time of your trip and will be displayed in the app, or a site like UberFareFinder.com. It is displayed as a multiplier, such as 1.5x or 2.5x, that will multiply the fare.
